WALL ART & INTERIOR DESIGN
GO HAND IN HAND
|
Posted on February 14, 2019
Art and Interior Design go hand in hand. Most of the time, wall art comes in last after a space is arranged, decorated and designed. Wall art can provide plenty of design possibilities for the entire room. Don’t buy art simply to match the couch or the bed sheets. If you can visualize for me the empty stark walls, then visualize art on the walls, see how it brings life and energy to the room. If it is difficult for you to do that, don’t feel bad, you are not alone. I have compiled some ideas and tips here to navigate your design needs.
ART GIVES A FOCAL POINT
|
|
The idea behind the creation of a focal point is that it instantly draws the eye into the space.
Artwork hanged or placed above the fireplace mantle in your living space or above the bed in your bedroom can easily do the purpose. Another way is - to create a gallery wall that can spice up or give a cozy feel to an area.
Also, keep the size of the artwork in mind when you pick a piece of wall art to be a focal point for your space. For instance, a small art piece will get lost on a big wall. |
ART PRVIDES INSTANT COLOR PALETTE |
|
The bright hues and bold strokes on this large painting on a dark wall, accompanied by minimalist furnishings brightens up the space. It can turn any room into bold and beautiful displays of one-of-a-kind-decor items. A versatile creative artwork like this one can fit in and bring life to any kind of décor. |
IT MAKES A ROOM APPEAR FINISHED |
|
Designers add accessories and accents to the interiors and turn rooms into spectacular luxurious living spaces. Wall art is one of those design elements that helps to pull the space together.
If you pick your artwork wisely, you can make your space look impressive and feel exclusive. Also, it can look like one of those featured designs in an interior décor magazine. |
STYLE |
|
Give some oomph to your space.
Exotic, ethnic, original art works and artistic combinations of textures, colors and forms can jazz up your interior design. Give your space a fresh new look.
It depends what kind of look or effect you want to achieve in a particular space – serene or passionate. The style of the décor that includes your art on the walls should speak of your unique personality. The art must scream your name out loud when someone walks into the room and says, “Oh! That’s so you”.
Choose a piece of art that YOU love and fits in YOUR decor style and personality. Be authentic and true to yourself. It will make you happy for many years to come.

DEEP CONVERSATIONAL |
|
Figurative artwork, for example can start a deep conversation. It can grab your visitors’ attention when they see it, then start off a great discussion.
If you’re into tech, you can have modern wall art that adds a dose of the digital. Don’t be afraid with your art and decor. |
